Unless you're in Karelia or near Murmansk, where the seasons go
Chilly and teeming with hungry mosquitoes; swampy Freaking Cold; floody. Holy-Fuck-is-it-Cold; snowdrifts up to your sternum (and some year's, Fry's sternum) Freaking Cold; floody: the rerun. |

I love the autumn and winter. I like cold weather, rain (especially walking in it), overcast grey skies (seriously), cold breezes (but not too windy), frosty mornings. I really really really hate the summer and I'm not looking forward to the coming months. I can't stand it being hot, anything about 15 degrees celsius is too much for me. I don't like the bright sun. I despise going out on hot summer days and even more so I hate travelling in the hot weather. I like seeing the flowers blooming and the blue skies in spring but all too soon it starts getting too hot and unbearable.

It keeps snowing here but then it melts away again while we sleep so no lazy snow days.

Summer is my hibernation period. I haven't left my house for two and a half weeks (well, except to chase the cows that broke through the neighbor's fence). Winter is the opposite -- always outside in the winter. Oh...wah...damn, I'm gonna miss fall again. I'm moving back to college this August, which is far south and in a much drier landscape. The autumns there are lovely in their own way, but there's nothing like watching the seasons go by in the place you grew up.

I love them both. Summer = Road biking, rollerblading, camping, hiking and climbing, football etc. Winter = snowboarding, snowball fights, mountain biking, skiing.
Everyone's a winner. |

I thought it was ALWAYS winter in Russia? this year we had enormous heat in moscow, and after years of " i love summer " I've realised that I hate heat. We just never had +37C before.. Anyway, after all I'd say I prefer late April-May, and September-early October.. And cool summer days - +22 C is enough. But I do hate winter - because of all this dirty wet snow around. |
