Anything goes...well, almost anything...films, tv programmes, books, magazines...and all manner of long since forgotten products.

My earliest tv memory is watching Dr Who, then played by Patrick Troughton, riding around on a dalek. I later learned that the scene came from an adventure called The Evil of the Daleks and that episode has long since been lost from the BBC archives.

As for Childrens tv...who can forget Andy Pandy and this...

And does anybody remember Sweetheart desert that came in a tin and you mixed it with milk to make a truly gorgeous concoction...I recall my mother scouring the stalls of the Birmingham indoor market for the last few tins...I weep for it still..

This is on behalf of my husband. It is the first thing he remembers watching on TV. It's Torchy the battery boy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wujTB-nDe-M

It starts as an innocent kiddies programme and then...............There's an old man who looks like an evil Santa who has the local kids to play in his garden. The kids are delinquent little bastards, they make his pet dog float away.

He's only bothered about himself and how lonely he'll be and THEN he decides to make himself a Toyboy.

I know I've given the 'plot' away but it really is unmissable.

Beast, my memories of Bill and Ben are that the production was just superb.

Although in my defence I was an under five at the time..............

What a bizarre programme...just a little before my time. What with an old man with a mohican called Bumbledrop and a dog called pompom who decides to make a toyboy...

I checked to find the year it was transmitted 1959-60, only then could they get away with it.

And all those kids looked like they were off their faces on something.
I'm gobsmacked. Thankyou

I used to love Belle and Sebastian. I used to pretend I'd live in a village when I grew up.

I am now grown up and don't.

Here is one of my earliest TV memories:

I also remember something called Busy Lizzie but can find no sign of it.

I don't remember any of that.

Probably because I didn't grow up in the UK.

Really? Wow.

I dare say you had stuff to watch that was similarly hammy in it's acting or execution, but which you now look back on as being slightly comforting.

For us, "flobalob ippup weeb" was one of the cornerstones of a healthy social life, as it taught us to greet each other in a civil and courteous manner.

I now leave, waving and calling "blob blob, blob blob", as I go.

The only way is forward. Now where's the bar?

I can't believe I still remember all those programmes...the woodentops were fab...Busy Lizzie rings a bell but...no picture in my brain.

Belle and Sebastian...i'd completely forgotten about them...

flubbadub...I was wondering, did Looby Loo ever get out of that room?

What about this one...?

Does one of them remind anyone of Alan Carr?

Bingo-Alan Carr. Oh yes.

I was a fan of the Banana splits, and who of a certain age wasn't?

I can remember Drooper doing a dear drooper problem page section which I thought was hilarious.

And the Arabian Nights cartoon. Also the live action series they used to run. Something 'Island'. Was it Danger Island?

I used to like Wonder Woman and the hulk. Actually I vaguely remember having a crush on Bill Bixby. I do like men with dark hair.

Here is another of my childhood faves. Although I was not in love with the male star. I would like to make that very clear.

I remember Wonder Woman and The Hulk but as for Greatest American Hero...it didn't cross the Atlantic to good old Blighty.

Hector's House were one of those programs, like Magic Roundabout, that came over from France and were dubbed into English. I read an very funny article about it once (I still have the cutting buried somewhere), it had the great description of Hector House as a 'menagerie a trois'.

As a kid I always had one of those small pocket transistor radio, listening to BBC Radio One and Radio Luxembourg. I still occasionally hum the Styvesants cigarette jingle to myself with realising it. And when they play the early 70s on BBC Radio Two's pick of pops I'm shocked at songs that I remember liking, that now make me cringe...I think early 70s pop damaged my musical education. Though there was Bowie...Starman always me smile...perfect song of childhood wonder.
