Those great days of shorty shorts. Isn't it strange how the men's shorts got longer while the women's skirts got shorter?
I think there should be a campaign to bring them back in all sports.

Marzgirl, I usually loathe aggression and anger, but there was always something funny about McEnroe. I don't know what though. I never disliked him. He presented a quiz show here a few years back called 'The Chair', he was a very good host. Sadly it was cancelled after, I think, one series, which is sad because it was better than a lot of the mindless tripe we have to put up with now.

Did Brinsley Forde go on to be a singer or am I fooling myself?

Yes, I remember the Double Deckers well, they were always on over the summer holidays. I still vividly remember the episode where they made a hovercraft. It was whacky but full of fun and imagination. And the slapstick is still fresh today.
As for Brinsley Forde he went on to found the group Aswad in the 80s.

This is not all that far into the past, only about 6 years for me. But as Hugh Laurie is one of your fine imports and he has no accent for his House character I had no idea he was from England. That is until I was flipping channels late one night and came across this program. I think I was more shocked to see him dressed this way, than to realize he was English. LOL!

The above video is the reason my mom would not let me watch MTV when it first started. I had to sneak. Now MTV does not even show videos anymore.

Silver spoons was never shown over here, but we used to have mork and mindy.
How young does Robin Williams look in it?
Younger than he does now that's for sure!
Here is my most beloved kid's show from when I were a bairn.

Steve Martin just makes me laugh to look at. My three fave S Martin films:
The man with two brains
All of me
Dirty rotten scoundrels
The last has the dual attraction of him and Michael Caine.
Two best M caine films
Zulu (Have watched it over and over again)
Get Carter (Brilliant)
