Cardinal Slumberus Drone (1859 - 1966) did not make a large contribution to the evolution of government, as he spent most his time in the House of Lords soundly asleep and unaware of the machinations going on around him. He did, however, wake up long enough to realise what was occurring and took time to write the official government prayer.

Our government, somehow elected
Delusion be our game.
My god we're dumb
But there's work to be done
And blame to be deflected.
Delay us today our daily decisions.
And forgive us our procrastination,
As we forgive those who procrastinate
in response.
And lead us not into innovation,
But deliver us from progress.
For we have the bureaucrats,
With the power, and the will
To infuriate
For ever and ever.
Amen.

The system grinds on
malodorous, relentless
producing manure

(Sudo Kamikaze 1780 - 1835)

Oh, we have a similar version Mr.Fripley but with more 'woo hoo!'s and 'giddy up!''s in it. Yours sounds so much classier than our'n,

Your Pal,
Sam

A haiku response:

That was very nice.
In fact, it made me chuckle;
chuckle in my pants.
