...is the only thing about the programme that I don't like.
1. it's cod-reggae
2. it sounds like it's all on synthesisers- in fact, midi. The organ sounds like number 32 on the midi scale.
3. I'm not quite sure how it goes with the programme, but I spose classical music would be i. obvious and ii. nausea-inducing. Obvious in the way that I want to throw books on the floor when they play classical in Waterstones. "Books? Oh, we must be cultured, let's play some classical."
Now I should point out that I don't have anything against reggae per se, but that particular tune grates on me. It's really rather naff to my poor ears.
Lee 'Scratch' Perry - yes.
Lame cod-reggae on synths - no.
anyone else?

I'm not entirely sure that everyone would agree with you but you are of course entitled to your own opinion. I have no opinion on the theme myself. I am mildly annoyed though that Howard Goodall gets rather protective about his music being available online.

Just having a root about and he's done some pretty good themes in the past - Blackadder, Red Dwarf...
...but I do stand by my opinion that the QI theme sounds like something he bashed out in 2 minutes on midi!

Has this been said already but is it not very obviously ( and very cleverly) a reggae version of Dylan's " Don't Think Twice It's Alright" ?

I love the theme tune. Always makes me smile when I hear it.
Can't see the Dylan thing myself. Hmm.

The theme tune is catchy, I often find myself wandering through the house whistling it to myself haha! X-D
