Aww. I guess it's a good thing I didn't let my friend drag me to it, then.

Gore Verbinski forgot the classic "less is more". Same thing that knackered Spidey 3 and Xmen 3 in my view.

Aww, Spidey went the same way? That is too bad. I agree about X-Men 3 though.

This weekend? So far I've laid in (my broken) bed all day. I should have done homework; I didn't. I just moved to Kunming, China 8 days ago and I don't really know my way around to find things to do. That, and I barely speak the language, so going out involves awkward pauses and requests to repeat the things that are said to me. I'm happy to finally have internet access--it makes lazy days like today less excruciatingly boring. I have a television, but Chinese TV usually sucks. I suppose as a foreign language student I shouldn't, but I'm happy to be connected to the English-speaking world again. Hello again, Fry fans!

Not that I'm condoning copyright infringement or anything, but programs such as PPStream, PPMate, TVU and TVAnts enable the PC owner to watch streamed television on the interweb, and most British/American shows can be downloaded from torrent sites or newsgroups such as http://www.easynews.com but as I said, I'm not condoning copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is bad, mmmkay?

Hello from "FryFan" "itself", filliamhmuffin. (I am new here and not had time to be around much.)

Where are you from, originally?

Frankly I don't care about all these Marvel comics super hero films as I've been a dedicated lover of DC comics for over 20 years. I just can't afford to buy them any more. I wish they wiould make (decent) films of more than just Superman and Batman. How about Green Lantern or the Golden Age Sandman. For those who don't know, the Sandman is one of DC's earliest masked heroes from the 1930s. In the 1990s they revived the character, though keeping him strictly in the 1930s, and had him investigating stuff (serial killers for example) that would be best directed by David Fincher if ever there was a movie.
If you're not interested in super hero comics at all I'll give you a quick analogy: DC=BBC, Marvel=ITV.
I must be the only person I know who hasn't seen ANY of the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Brittanicus, go see it... dont let anyone tell you if its good or not because I went to see it - twice - and I loved it. it was fantastic, and I wasnt the only one to think so.... it all depends on your style of film. I thought it was really really funny and clever. It wasnt any were near as good as POTC 1 but these movies never are as good as the first.

Aww Nick! You should at least see the first one, it is fantastic! and so beautiful.... id give my right arm to work on a production like that....

Anyone who likes to shout "Excelsior!" is a bit of a tit. And have you ever read any of his editorials? Have you ever read any DC?

The thing about DC is characterisation. Marvel, it seems to me, just like to keep going for bigger 'special effects'.
