Bombs away! It's off to Boiler12. FYI, the book weighed just under a pound to mail. And it's about to travel 407 miles.

Quick summation of the rules:

The Stephen Fry Birthday Book Rules
(rules as in guidelines, we all know this book totally RULES)

1. Respond on the forum message board “Tracking the Birthday Book” thread when you receive the book.
2. Once you receive this book, you have two (2) days to decorate your two (2) pages.
3. Please take a picture of the book next to a local landmark to show its travels.
4. You may upload that photo to our album at http://www.photobucket.com. Username: fluffetteforum, password: fluffetteforever, subfolder “Birthday Card”.
5. We will have a list of where the book is going. Private Message (PM) the person who will receive the book before you so you can give them your address. Currently this is the American list:
Fryphile: Missouri
Boiler12: Indiana
Michael: Oklahoma
notaracer - North Carolina
PamJH - Michigan
Ginj - New Jersey
So Boiler will PM me her address, Michael will PM Boiler, Notaracer will PM Michael, PamJH will PM Notaracer, and Ginj will PM PamJH. The same will be true once the European list is established.
6. If the next recipient doesn't answer your PM in 48 hours, we must move on to the next person.
7. Please use postal tracking so you can follow the book.
8. If you are under the age of 16, please make sure your parents or guardians are OK with this.
9. Use common sense when decorating your page. If you glue something, make sure it's completely dry before you close the book. Tape might be a better choice much of the time. Please don't use markers or paint that might bleed onto someone else's page.
10. You may keep photographs of your pages on the off-chance something happens to the original. These don't have to be shared unless you want to, but that creates a back-up for us.
11. A good site for tracking distance between cities: http://www.geobytes.com/citydistancetool.htm

Edited to include the itinerary lists:
USA
Europe/UK

Silly question but - won't it get heavier as it goes round with all the bits folk are putting in? :-//

I have a cunning plan!

Okay, I sent it on today (Thursday) morning, and the lady said it should be in OK by Saturday. I didn't send the rules, though, because I'm stupid, so that will come in a separate envelope, which I'm sending this afternoon...

And the distance between my town and Michael's is 625 miles.

sent book on monday afternoon, used "certified mail" but it doesn't require a signature or anything, just means there's a number attached.

914 miles from me to notatracer

Book arrived a few minutes ago. Pesky work seems to dictate that I'll be sending it on Friday morning. Will try for Thursday evening, but Friday seems more optimistic.

All the pages you've done so far are soo cute.

It's here, it's here, it's here!

And it looks just as pink and moist and fluffy and gorgeous as I thought it would. I would dearly love to be AlmightyNaji for just five minutes to see it when it's finished.

Everyone's done such a wonderful job. And Fryphile, you do have cute boy handwriting.

Edited to add: If anything happens to me, you'll find the book wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and residing in my sock drawer. Clean socks only, of course.

Bombs away to Ginj! Sent the journal at 1 p.m. EST. I will update this message after I've done the mileage. I was so excited to let everyone know it's been sent so I bopped in and used a library computer.

When you receive and send it from here on out please add the following message on this thread:

"Please reserve this thread for send and receive information only. All other comments should be posted on the Card Project Thread on General Musings.
