You're not a pain in the whatsit. Are you OK with speaking your line off camera while a pic of Stephen appears?

as I was considering this, I thought of something...I don't think I even have a way to record my voice with a bit of quality.
are there things to be done beside doing a part of the lovely piece ?

Totally COOL BEANS, PEOPLE. This is yet again going to be AWESOME. I feel like we're in a relationship and every year we try to think of new and inventive ways to show our love, except in this relationship, we always out-do ourselves

Are we getting people to stipulate whether they'll be doing audio or video? I didn't know whether this would have a bearing on allocation of lines, whether we were alternating video and audio (depending obviously on what the ratio is, like 2 videos 1 audio or 3 audios 1 video, if you get me) or whether we're going for the random approach. All's cool with me, just thought I'd say :D.

I'm not particularly concerned with alternating video/audio. I prefer the random approach. One thing I did wonder about is what type of file format is preferable? avi, wmv or does it matter? I think we can even toy with making some test samples so we're not wallowing in technohell at the final hour.

fryfan20, were you in on the audio birthday? Do you have a camera that records or a webcam or something like that? I'm not supertechy myself, so if anyone can help, I'd be obliged.

no, I was playing the part of the coward with the bday message as well.
I will be testing some apps for my phone, and see what kind of quality that will give.

so if I can manage the tecno stuff I'm in for the audio thing.

Filetype very well might be an issue, and I'd be interested in gjhsy's thoughts on this. For example, I use my camera phone to record my videos, but it only saves the file as 3GPPs (I know, I'd never heard of it either). With many things I imagine there won't be many options of what file type to save it as, especially with more basic technology like mine, but that'll be fine: send in the clips in whatever form they come. I know from manipulating sound files every which way but forward that there are a simply dazzling array of free programs that you can download (safely - though you need your wits about you sometimes) to convert files. For example, I can convert a WMA file to a WAV to a MP3 to a...well, whatever you want it really. There are also things like photobucket which automatically change the file type of videos: when I posted up my 3GPP videos for the Christmas Project on photobucket, it converted them automatically into FLVs. So I could download those files and save them to my computer, and they'd be a different file type. Easy when you know how I guess...
So I'm confident about potentially having to resolve any file type problems. It also makes things easier the better video editing software you use too, I don't know what you've got your eye on gjhsu. If all else fails, I do what I always do, and that's get my sister to do it for me (who I'm pretty sure helped us out with something before, though I have no idea what) XD.

the app most promicing for the job sends the message to Gmail in a format that is called 3GP do we have a geek on stand by to convert them in a right format? it may be useful to look at what formats youtube prefers.

on a other note, Fryphile. it may be a good idea that when your giving out lines to get the lines with a high score of tongue-twisters to the people who speak English as a fist language. just a idea
