'blog is an abbreviation of web log, which obviously makes 'blessay an abbreviation of web ... lessay?
Any thoughts?

PS. I'm quite fond of referring to short articles as blogs and longer ones as blongs

While I find the name charming, I'm left wondering what the L stands for.

Really?
I like blongs though. Mr Fry can add inventor to his CV for having invented the web log essay. The wessay, as they say. We say blessay to save necessary blasé finesse (that is to say, to save face). Keep up the pace, I say! Somebody save me. Is anybody else feeling dizzy? Did somebody sneeze? Sorry, what a cliché. |

I also thought 'blessay' is a portmanteau of blog and essay.
