I just stumbled upon this site and registered immediately. I love Stephen, whenever I am trying to write, he is a part of that funny little background atmosphere that surrounds the process. Does anyone else feel a sense of others at their shoulder like that...
I wrote a poem sometime ago that I always heard either Stephen or Sir John Guilgude(is that how you spell him?) delivering at some great international, ear nose and throat specialists award ceremony.
Here it is...
ALL THAT WAS MOIST
CONGEALMENT HATH AFFLICTED
QUIVERING, SECRETED, BY FINGERNAIL EVICTED
GONE THE WHISTLING NOSTRIL
GONE THE GLISTENING HARP-STRING
NOW IN CROSS EYED SCRUTINY
MERE FINGER AND THUMB PLAYTHING
BE-STALKED WITH SINGLE RAPIER HAIR
PLUCKED NOT FROM THE HEAD
BUT TORN FROM SALTY CATACOMB
WHERE RAVAGED SINUS BLED
I think Stephen could make that sound incredible,I would love to hear him do it.
