I have found that most people i meet who have bp like rock/metal music.
So what bands do you like? Could it just be a word i can't spell? or does rock music really fuck your mind up? X-D Funny you should menyion that J.V. - as I am currently addicted to Zakk Wylde's 'Black Label Society' - as is a chap with mental health problems I once met. For me the heavy stuff is cathartic - and the rest also serves an expressive function. The ironic thing is that as a player, I prefer playing the mellow stuff, like Blues, Soul, Pink Floyd , even a bit of 'new country' e.t.c. Beyond that initial observation, my tastes are reasonably eclectic ( depends on the mood really ) - but In no fixed order : Tom Waits Black Label Society Pink Floyd Roger Waters Van Halen The Eagles Don Henley Dan Fogelberg Gretchen Peters J.J. Cale Z.Z.Top Brian Setzer Orchestra / Stray Cats Michael McDonald Thin Lizzy U.F.O (Early ) Peter Green B.B. King Robin Trower Albert Collins Albert Lee Gary Moore. Be - Bop Deluxe Racing Cars The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Portishead (early ) Electric Light Orchestra Supertramp Big 'n' Rich Various romantic / emotive classical composers, ( notably Gustav Mahler ) ... There are probably many I have forgot to mention. |

I absolutely LOVE music, I breathe it like air nad seriously think I could not live without it! I would be here forever if I listed everyone I like so here's jsut a few of my favourite bands/artists (If I can leave it at a few lol)

I don't mind a bit of rock, but the hard stuff isn't for me. I like songs with a real sing-a-longy thing going on. To include a few off the top of my head:-

Nice to see that someone recognises my 'old geezer' stuff Yes, Alex Harvey did do a track called 'Swampsnake' on his 'Next' album. I think it was his all time best album, but it was hard to choose. I have not been to see the band without Alex, as I feel it would just not be the same without his unique acting and charisma. ( R.I.P Alex ). Is the new Roger Waters album you refer to the very excellent 'Amused To Death' ? His DVD called "In The Flesh' which was filmed on the 'Amused To Death' tour is highly recommended too ... The only thing that has put me off seeing Gary Moore live on his current tour is : 1) I am skint 2) He got a bit impatient / bad tempered with the audience when I last saw him. Having said that, Gary Moore has been a great musical influence on me - and has delivered some blistering performances since I first saw him with Thin Lizzy in the 70s. He certainly plays with fire in his belly, and does the best impersonation I have ever heard of the early Peter Green stuff. Nice one J.V !  |

Up untill a few years ago i was always at gigs and have seen some really good bands. But illness got worse and couldn't handle the crowds anymore. I got the cd days of speed the acoustic one which is good....Have you seen him? |

Is it just me or does anyone have an artist/group who they really can't abide? I really can't be doing with James Blunt. The sound of him and his music makes me want to cut my ears off. To make matters worse, my boyfriend bought his album today - raarrrrrr!!! I told him that if he insists on playing it when I'm in the car with him, I'll be forced to chuck myself out of the car at full speed. I don't know what it is - I don't normally suffer from a bad temper, but hearing that drivvel makes me want to do bad things. A friend of mine had it playing at her house once and I had to ask her to change it, my heart was racing and I felt like smashing something. Okay, so I already know I'm a nutter, but I was wondering if anyone else possibly had this type of reaction to any music???
