No 3 together in the same room one was ok quite understanding the other 2 were a waste of time it was all yes we want to help oh poor you and all that 6 months later er where is the help.
It's a joke then when they let people into the community and they go out of control the people who let them out should be sacked.
Gp's are no better the one here gave me every drug under the sun before admitting defeat so i was left feeling crap while she played god that's the trouble with this country too many people on too much money doing nothing to earn it.
Sorry to read that you have had some bad experiences JV.
My own sound physically similar, but differently perceived.
1) I always allow a second or third psychiatrist/ trainee psychiatrist/Nurse in the room to assist with the task of providing myself as a 'sample' for them to study in order to help provide ongoing experience and education within the local Health Trust..
(The first person to spot my real diagnosis was in fact a 'junior' member of the Psychiatric team ).
2) I have also tried many drugs over 32 years and continue to experiment. Some of us unfortunately take a long time to find the right combination
( I'm still trying ) - and some of us are not helped by medication to the degree we would like, if indeed at all.
I therefore do not blame the prescribing G.P or Psychiatrist for the fact that a given drug(s) is/are not working at any given time, as I realise that we all react so differently to the same thing. or combination of things.
They ( or I ) don't know that drugs x,y and z are not appropriate unless we first try them. I have friends who have found great relief from things I cannot even bear to take !
I am honest and yet friendly about what I perceive to be their own limitations and they in turn concur, but continue to constantly bring about what change they can.
Perhaps I have indeed been fortunate, but perhaps I just take to them a more compliant and malleable material to work on ...
All the best for your future treatment , and health J.V.
Derek.
