That was my point in the first place. That the following Key Stages don't follow on very well from the Foundation Stage. The children are moving from one way of learning to another and are expected to be able to adjust very quickly and it happens again when they move from primary and secondary. It's not a gradual change it's just sudden.

Assuming direct control...
