Not sure what y'all are reading, but the only thing I see on this thread so far is light hearted banter.

I scouted out the place where I'll be carrying the torch in... holy crap ONE WEEK! It's on a hill! A HUGE ASS HILL! Oooh I'm so nervous. I kind of just want it to be over and done with.

Congrats Lauren. It'll be over before you know it. I think the Olympics are, by law, played in fast forward

Really? Wow.

that's a good article, i didn't know that!

even if that "medical reasoning" was correct... why is the risk of not remaining fertile suddenly bigger than, i dunno, any other accident that may happen in any other sport women compete in? like, "it's okay if the brain gets shook around, but don't touch that baby oven! the patriarchy needs it for making more men!!"

**apologies if parts of my tirade don't follow clean logical rhetoric rules.

you'll notice women don't go around banning men from playing sports because the women are concerned the men's dicks will get broke. hmmmmm.... wonder why.....lol

Talking of men's dicks getting broke. This woman at a place I worked once told me a story about such an incident. It happened in a nightclub when a friend of hers was having sex with her boyfriend on the dancefloor and he slipped. I wonder if it hurt

Breaking contradictions in his mind was, to him, like walking through a winter forest snapping twigs underfoot.

Hey now that's why we have these:

I cannot be awake for nothing looks to me as it did before, Or else I am awake for the first time, and all before has been a mean sleep.

yeah,lol... women have those too...protection for reproductive organs... it's called an abdomen. so, if anything, women should be MORE allowed to jump smack into things.

(sarcastic tone is for the medical community and the olympic committee, not directed at Toby, lol)

Well, women *are* competing in the Olympics. Those downhill skiiers, the women, aren't exactly going about it in a 'soft' manner. They go full force and as fast as the men! And women are in the snowboard races and halfpipe contests as well.

I had a female friend who fenced. By regulation they have to wear breast plates. Some are metal, some are plastic, and there are also protective type of gear for womens um...'parts south of the border' For a long time, womens bikes did not have a center stabilizer bar so those parts would NOT get harmed, because they can be and I understand it's AT LEAST AS painful for a woman as a man. I think some men wised up and started getting bikes sans that center bar

When the Olympics first started, there were no female contestants. It was all male and all nude! So, things have changed and will continue to change. But no change ever comes quickly enough, particularly in gender discrimination, IMHO. I'm glad women stand up and make themselves heard. Don't stop!!

Really? Wow.

I don't know you guys... I think they should go back to it being only male and all nude. At least for the summer Olympics. I'd watch every second.

I'd watch it because it would be hilarious. Because naked guys=funny and naked girls=hot. I just don't know if I want to see penises flying around everywhere, unless it was for comedic value.

Open to suggestions as to what my sig should consist of...

It may have added to the occasion. Who knows?
