no, when i was ain high school, they started minor league hockey here, and i started watching nhl games too, and my fave player was pavel bure. this was like... 1994 or 95 of course, lol

when i lived in seattle we drove up there to watch a game. i still have a soft spot for the vancouver canucks. but i don't get cable so don't watch hockey on tv anymore.

meanwhile, yay women's hockey!! and don't listen to the IOC, drink and smoke on the ice all you want. it's what hockey players do, dammit!

Oh my, looks like its the yanks vs the canucks in mens hockey...I wouldn't want to be a player nor in the arena in that game LOL

Nice pics Laur. I watched the womens 3000m speed skate relay not-live..but Wow! To say S.Korea might be a little ticked off at the judges call, which DQ'd them after they crossed for the gold medal, is an understatement. So China got the gold. The american womens team earned a bronze only be default. They actually came in 4th and last and only got that because of the DQ call on Korea. Which isn't much of an 'earn' in my book...Did you see the offensive manuever Laur? On replay, it looked to me like she didn't just block the Chinese skater, but actually shoved her off a little...I don't know the rule details so don't know if the call was 'just' or not...

Tobi, I don't know if we'll see Olympic tubing...that requires no effort either does it, except hoping you won't smash into a tree? lol

Really? Wow.

Good on you Michael! So you lived in Seattle for a while? I love it down there.

Yeah I don't get the whole DQ thing in speed skating. You probably had a better view of the whole thing watching TV than I did in the stands. I was way in the back, so I didn't see anything unusual. It was sad though, because S.Korea was doing their victory lap around the arena with their flags when the announcement was made. And the Apolo Ohno DQ today was really uncalled for... I didn't see anything at all. Oh well, I guess that's why they're the judges and I'm not.

I can't understand why ANY of them were doing a victory lap when they knew that the judges were still watching replays of the race. "It's not over till the fat lady sings..." in this case, the fat lady being the judges lol

As I only can see the Olympics on one channel ( the live version I mean...there's a channel that does the replays of the events ) and that means, in my time zone, that I have to stay up till nearly two in the morning to catch some of the events I want to see...I didn't see the Ono race but now know something bad happened LOL I'll watch the replays..

I guess if the Canadian mens hockey team loses it won't be so bad now, because the Canadian womens hockey team kicked the U.S. womens hockey teams' asses all over the rink and won gold. Congrats!

Not sure, but I seem to recall someone saying that the speed skate last night was Apollo's last chance to win. So if he was DQ'd...what a drag!! I don't think we'll be seeing him skate in any more Olympics.

Really? Wow.

Au contraire mon frere it requires tremendous effort and skill to hang on with one hand while firing your paint ball gun with accuracy at the other tubers.

My dad has become very interested in speed skating because he likes seeing shiny things go fast. He refers to curling as, "that shuffleboard on ice game." I have to remember that he's a child and we have to monitor his exposure to media.

Open to suggestions as to what my sig should consist of...

This hockey game is CRAZY!

I hope everyone watches the closing ceremonies tonight! But if Nickelback preforms you are allowed to hate the whole thing.
