This is by Bright Eyes and called First Day of My Life. A great song but I liked the old reel tape and filming the people as they listen to this song. There's some real innocence in this video that speaks to me.

Ah Tito, that's a sweet video And what those folks are doing reminds me a little of something that Hepatitis Youth would do LOL

This is part one of a 12 part series...the band Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros...I'm still sort of half and half on their music, but I like some of the stuff in this video..

This reminds me of my Grandmother. She is now 92 years old, and had the pleasure of seeing this, and a few others. My Grandmother might not think so, but she has really LIVED. I have heard alot of her stories several times now, but when I really think about it the scope of her experiences is pretty grand.

in q's video, i thought one of those guys was Richard Ashcroft for a minute! the one w/ rose colored sunglasses...

Tito! You so RAWK! I remember the first time I heard that ( Star Trekkin' ) and I cracked up. Just a kid working my first real serious job and I stopped working just to listen to it. I'm so glad you posted that. And Sinead has such a great voice. It's sad she about destroyed her career here w/ the tearing up of the Pope's pic on SNL ( I think it was SNL...). Not sure if it cause as many waves ya'll's side of the
pond...

gosh marz, 92 years is excellent! I love old people! And Paolo, if nothing else, is quite the handsome lad I like that band behind him!I'm going to send that link to a friend who's head over heels for that guy.

I'm having a great time with the tunes...lots of new and old mixed in...big hugs all round. Sinead and Star Trekkin' together...what a joy, Tito. Pavarotti and Lou Reed make a really odd combination, I think even Lou Reed is a little bemused, dear Nitro. Thanks for the lovely comment marz, great to see that your gran is still a goer at 92.

Okay here goes...
This is probably the last great video Liza did when she was with the Pet Shop Boys. She really throws everything in it. I bought this video when it first came out, and I borrowed it to a friend who ended up using the song to do a Lisa drag performance. I never saw the tape again...or him either.

I would not have imagined Lou Reed and Pavarotti together either. How can you not smile at that though!
I have never seen Liza like that either! Wisdom from my Gran..Can't remember the exact words, but don't borrow and don't lend.

Marzgirl, an old lady who used to live in the last village I lived in, always had the door open and would sit in the doorway of her house, in her wheelchair, listening to the Phantom of the Opera.

She also used to drive like a maniac down the country roads in said wheelchair.

She had a pink rinse on her hair and was called 'Eunice'.

Nitro, I'm still filling up eveytime I see Pavarotti. Sniffle.

Beastikins, I just love Liza. She looks fantastic. And in Cabaret no-one else could have played Sally Bowles like she did.

As for Sinead O Connor, I think most people here just thought she was a twerp and moved on.
