This is a good tune Marzgirl! It's made me think of your son as being a bit more grown up.

that jamiroqai song makes me want to play stevie wonders 'higher ground' for some reason...that's a good thing in my book

I know this is an old video of yorke and gang, but i still love the way the video's made...in fact, *most* of their videos are really well done...and thom's face is just...well, very unique and so suited to that defeated or simmering rage emotions... not to mention a stellar voice and greenwood's rock guitar is still too underated imho..

Tito, if there were a hall of fame for 'Big Mistakes Rock Bands Make', then The Verve deciding to call it quits has got to be at least in the top 15. They did that just as they teetered on the edge of breaking here in the states...instead, people heard them in dribbles and they became the band that ripped off The R.Stones and the next week just irrelevant...i still like some of Ashcroft's solo work though, like this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BahH6ClfMpQ&feature=related

reminds me of some friends who were tossed in a mental ward for three days because a cop caught them walking home from a party drunk...

I like Precious Stone better, but couldn't find a video for it...

and because of the jamiroqai video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH3EaO5AMDU

audio's slightly poor, but it's the man himself so...

Really? Wow.

Good choices Nitro. Had forgotten about the Stevie Wonder one. I am a big Stevie Wonder fan anyway.

Richard Ashcroft is just brilliant. The Verve weren't together long enough for me either.

I think husband likes Radiohead too. Will play him that vid when he returneth.

This song contains my favourite line ever. It sums me up and what 'life' is like for me.

The line is 'I can't get a life if my hearts not in it'.

I like this one. As much as I like Red Hot Chili Peppers, it would have just been flat wrong or down right criminal to follow Mr. Wonder with their remake.

I could not find an actual video for this song. But kind of means alot to me. Was exactly how I felt after 9/11. Good, bad, right, wrong. Just how I felt at the time. I ended up taking my son to a pizza/arcade that day because I did not know what else to do when I got sent home from work. Had I not been a mom I think I would have signed myself up that day because emotions were so high and I am impulsive anyway.

Ok, the last one was a downer, so here is a funny one. The FooFighters said after they did this video, during concerts people threw mentos at them on stage. And they hurt!!!

Cool vid q...Kate has that 'scene hair' going on ( which seems to be making a resurgance now with a whole new gen lol ).

I've been listening to Nick Cave's latest cd "Dig Lazurus Dig!!" repeatedly for MONTHS. It's astounding musically and lyrically. Nick's got a great way with words.

Great line:
"But what do really know of the dead
and who ACTUALLY cares?"

I love this PJ Harvey vid because she rocks out and looks better than any dude doing it LOL She looks better and does it better. PJ's just fucking cool as hell and that's it.

I like this one for it's seedy story

and this one, becuase it sort of reminds me of me and my friends ( bohemians ):

and this one, just because I think Etta does such a good job...first time i saw this, i cried...

Forgot I wanted to also share this Nina Simone video..I love it!! Nina had such a distinct damned voice, there's no mistaking her once you've heard her...very unique style...jazz got a little better for her presence RIP Ms Simone

Really? Wow.

My daughter loves this song, as do I. My daughter asked if it was about her because we always tell her she has a genius brain.

Nitro, I've had to listen to yours in bits!

Thankyou for Cat Stevens. Husband was really pleased with that one, loving our Arthur as he does.

Again a few I didn't know. Your taste in music is very similar to my husbands I have to say.

It's always good to hear Iggy pop too!

So, the end of 1999 through 2000 was tough. This album/song came out and it became my anthem/fight song through that time.
