that jamiroqai song makes me want to play stevie wonders 'higher ground' for some reason...that's a good thing in my book I know this is an old video of yorke and gang, but i still love the way the video's made...in fact, *most* of their videos are really well done...and thom's face is just...well, very unique and so suited to that defeated or simmering rage emotions... not to mention a stellar voice and greenwood's rock guitar is still too underated imho.. Tito, if there were a hall of fame for 'Big Mistakes Rock Bands Make', then The Verve deciding to call it quits has got to be at least in the top 15. They did that just as they teetered on the edge of breaking here in the states...instead, people heard them in dribbles and they became the band that ripped off The R.Stones and the next week just irrelevant...i still like some of Ashcroft's solo work though, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BahH6ClfMpQ&feature=related reminds me of some friends who were tossed in a mental ward for three days because a cop caught them walking home from a party drunk... I like Precious Stone better, but couldn't find a video for it... and because of the jamiroqai video: audio's slightly poor, but it's the man himself so... Really? Wow. |

Good choices Nitro. Had forgotten about the Stevie Wonder one. I am a big Stevie Wonder fan anyway. Richard Ashcroft is just brilliant. The Verve weren't together long enough for me either. I think husband likes Radiohead too. Will play him that vid when he returneth. This song contains my favourite line ever. It sums me up and what 'life' is like for me. Just how I felt at the time. I ended up taking my son to a pizza/arcade that day because I did not know what else to do when I got sent home from work. Cool vid q...Kate has that 'scene hair' going on ( which seems to be making a resurgance now with a whole new gen lol ). I've been listening to Nick Cave's latest cd "Dig Lazurus Dig!!" repeatedly for MONTHS. It's astounding musically and lyrically. PJ's just fucking cool as hell and that's it. Forgot I wanted to also share this Nina Simone video..I love it!! Nina had such a distinct damned voice, there's no mistaking her once you've heard her...very unique style...jazz got a little better for her presence RIP Ms Simone Really? Wow. |

As much as I like Red Hot Chili Peppers, it would have just been flat wrong or down right criminal to follow Mr. Wonder with their remake.
