^ I like that idea

And to make it even fluffier, you can called it Stephen's Friends.

Oooh, yes!

Welcome Zel! And welcome anyone else who has migrated here from Devoted To Hugh. I'm so glad that lots of non-UK House fans have turned into Hugh fans in general and into Stephen fans.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I was not brave enough to watch the first progranmme but watched the second. I am also a manic depressive and having been on medication for several years decided to "go it alone" and found my GP and Specialist willing to let me as long as I remained in contact. I have two young children and an extremely understanding and patient husband and as an added bonus now work part-time for my GP. I feel very much like you in as much as I do not really want to lose my manic periods as for the best part I am at that time the person I most like. Creative, intelligent, diligent and I get so much done.......but as you say there is always a cost....the downtime is not to be envied...bleak, black, almost bottomless.

Even though I only saw the second part of your programme it has made me feel as though I am not alone. I might not be able to beat this but I can control it ... slightly!!

Is there anyway I can get a copy of both parts of this documentary. Not only for myself but for my husband who works nights and missed it, but also for my surgery..I think it would be a most useful tool for practioners, sufferers if you can call us that as when we are up we are unstopable and unbeatable, but also for newly diagnosed patients.

My GP thinks I should now become a counsellor as he feels I have a lot to offer - I am also very lucky in having a very forward and generous GP.

Stephen I just wish to add that I am sure along with many others I understand what you go through, and it was good to see that not only am I not alone but that others are trying to conquer this without drugs...

p.s. I tried CBT at the Priory Chelmsford and can honestly say it helped me a great deal - especially with the "buying" side of this....

I hope to hear, if not from you, then from someone on your team or someone who is monitoring the forum. My e-mail is jazzyjane@supanet.com.

Sincerely and with understanding and empathy...... Jane xx

*says eccentric hello*

Love to use this site to contact the great Mr. Fry himself... My mother was at college with him and Hugh, and I've been desperate for years to see if he still remembers her.

Once when I was small, I asked if they ever went out on a date together. ^_^

Most of that stuff can be adjusted in your profile section. Unless you're trying to change your username, in which case you'd probably need to just reregister with a new one. The password can be changed in your profile by inputting the current one, then the new one (typed twice).

If that comes to be, I'm making a thread named after myself. Just for the sake of appearance.
